Take your preferences with you
Manual installation guidance for compatible AI hosts.
Download your reviewed export from results, then copy it manually. A Skill is available across projects in a compatible local host; it may activate contextually, but installation cannot guarantee it is used on every request.

Docs verified. Project loading tested on macOS with Codex CLI 0.159.3 / gpt-6.1-sol on 1 October 2026; personal installation and other operating systems untested.
Official guidance checked 2 October 2026: Codex (local) skills documentation.
Expected personal file path
~/.agents/skills/ai-my-way/SKILL.md
In Finder, use Go → Go to Folder to open the parent directory. ~ means your home; Command–Shift–Period shows hidden folders.
- Download the Skill ZIP from results and inspect its files. Extract it and find the
ai-my-wayfolder whose immediate child isSKILL.md. - Create the personal skills directory
~/.agents/skillsif absent. Use one supported location per host to avoid duplicate skills. - If
ai-my-wayalready exists, stop and inspect it. Copy a backup outside the skills directory before choosing replacement. Move only that old folder out, then copy the new complete folder; do not silently merge or overwrite unrelated instructions. - Copy the extracted folder into the skills directory. Check the final path above; avoid
ai-my-way/ai-my-way/SKILL.md. - Open a fresh local host session. Type $ to find ai-my-way in the skills selector. If it is missing, check the path and filename, then restart the host and consult its official documentation.
Verify activation
$ai-my-way Explain a cache miss. Then help me draft a short project update.
Check that the host discovers and loads the Skill, then compare the answer’s detail, tone, and structure with your preferences. Try “Just give me the answer” to check that your current request wins. The website cannot observe installation or activation; a matching answer alone does not prove loading.
Update or remove
After editing, export again, inspect the new files, and repeat the backup/replacement steps. The website cannot update an installed copy. To remove it, confirm its contents and delete only the ai-my-way folder, keeping the parent skills directory and all other skills. Start a fresh session afterward.
Manual preferences for ordinary prompts
This is the same adaptation as the preferences.txt download, generated from your current results. Review it and merge it manually with existing personalization instructions. It is a distinct setup format; host rules and current requests still take precedence.
For Codex (local), back up and open ~/.codex/AGENTS.md. Add the reviewed text as a clearly marked preferences section, resolving conflicts with existing instructions. Create the file only if absent; never replace the whole file. This persistent setup is docs verified and host untested. Official persistent instructions guidance.
This is the default Codex home. If you configured CODEX_HOME, use its AGENTS.md instead.
Open a fresh session and try an ordinary prompt such as “Explain a cache miss,” without naming the Skill. Review whether the preferences apply. To update or remove persistent preferences, edit only the section you added, preserving other instructions.
For other hosts and browser/account interfaces, use a supported personalization field or paste into a conversation; check that host’s guidance for scope and removal. Local installation does not establish availability on another device, in cloud sessions, or in another product. Supplying an export to a host shares those preferences under its data policies.
